Di lokal, pengaruh ini didedah dalam banyak ragam. The Stone Roses memang mendominasi, tapi ada pula yang coba-coba jadi Charlatans, Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets, Northside, bahkan New Order.

Ah tapi apapun itu gairah Madchester —begitu gerakan musik ini disebut— selalu kental dengan ingar bingar pesta. Seperti kata Shaun Ryder:
